22K - Half Marathon

22 km | ~800m ascent | ~80% trail | ~20% gravel

The race starts and finishes at Norefjell Ski & Spa. The first 3 km follow a gravel road up towards Leppejuvet, a great warm-up to get your legs moving and your excitement building for the beautiful mountain terrain ahead.

From there, the course continues on a mix of flat, up and down towards Narumseter (5 km). Here, runners take a sharp right turn off the dirt road and onto a narrow singletrack trail that climbs up into the high mountains.

The trail is steep and narrow at first, but soon the terrain opens up. The climb continues alongside beautiful mountain creeks, gradually leading you to the mountain platau. After about 500 m of elevation gain, the trail becomes smoother, and on clear days you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Gråfjell and the highest point of the course — Høgevarde at 1,450 m.

At 11 km, the route passes the Høgevarde hut and aid station, making a scenic loop around the lake to the absolute high point before returning to the aid station (13 km) for a well-deserved break with snacks and energy drinks.

The next section is more runnable, following open mountain trails towards Augunshaug (19 km) along the mountain ridge. The final descent from Augunshaug brings a last technical challenge on rocky trails. Some sections are steep, so runners should take care — and be aware of faster descenders overtaking here.

Once you’re down from the technical section, you’ll hear and see the finish line. Give it everything you have left, cross the line, and celebrate your accomplishment with fellow runners!
