12 km | ~550m ascent | ~80% trail | ~20% gravel
The race starts and finishes at Norefjell Ski & Spa. The first 3 km follow a gravel road up towards Leppejuvet — a tough but perfect warm-up to get your legs moving and your excitement building for the beautiful mountain terrain ahead.
After crossing the river at Leppejuvet, runners take a sharp right turn off the dirt road and onto a narrow, steep singletrack trail that climbs into the mountains. Most runners will power hike the first part of the ascent before the trail smoothens out, following the river up to the highest point of the course (7 km).
From there, the route becomes more runnable, following open mountain trails towards Augunshaug (8.5 km) along the mountain ridge. The final descent from Augunshaug is a last technical challenge over rocky trails. Some sections are steep, so runners should take care — and be aware of faster descenders passing here.
Once you’re down from the technical section, the finish line will come into view. Give it everything you have left, cross the line, and celebrate your achievement with fellow runners!
